MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF
BRITTANY LAKES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC.
May 10, 2007
A meeting of the Board of Directors of Brittany Lakes Homeowners Association, Inc. (?Association?) was held on Thursday, May 10, 2007 at 6:30 p.m. at the Magnolia Creek Clubhouse located at 4751 League City Parkway, League City, Texas 77573.
Elizabeth ?Beth? Scully, Eli Mark and Linda Lorch were present as the Board of Directors, which constituted a quorum of Board Members. Also in attendance were Janet Sakach, CMCA, PCAM representing Planned Community Management, Inc. (“PCMI”) and Jim Turner, who is an owner member.
Beth Scully called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m.
First, the Board went into an executive session until 6:54 pm.
Then the regular Board meeting continued with the review of the minutes from the April 12, 2007 Board meeting. After one correction, a motion was made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve the minutes from Board meeting held on April 12, 2007 with one correction.
Next, Linda Lorch gave an update on a meeting she had with Brent Abshire with Earthcare Management to discuss landscaping plans at the nature reserve, the former drill site on Longspur and the pocket park at Essex and Midway. After a brief discussion, a motion being made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve to spend up to $3,800 on a sidewalk at the Longspur nature reserve to connect the existing sidewalks to be coordinated by Earthcare Management.
After further discussion, a motion being made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve a proposal from Earthcare Management in the amount of $1,600.00 plus tax to regrade and overseed entire Longspur Nature reserve with Bermuda seed and $3,000 plus tax to install irrigation in this area and in addition to grade out the frontage and open areas of the Longspur former drill site and install St. Augustine sod at the curb line to six (6) feet past the sidewalk and over seed the remaining lot with Bermuda seed at a cost of $675 plus tax along with irrigation for an additional $1,500 plus tax and to overseed bare areas of the park at Essex and Midway for $200 plus tax.
After further discussion, the Board instructed PCMI to write a letter to the city of League City confirming their responsibility to maintain the medians on League City Parkway and upon a motion being made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve the cost of $145 to mow the medians on League City Parkway between Calder and Hobbs Road one last time if the city does not mow them by May 25, 2007.
Afterwards, the Board reviewed the proposal to install lighting at the park located on Brittany Colony. Upon a motion being made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve the proposal from K. R. Allen Construction to install lighting at the park at the Brittany Colony park in the amount of $3,950.00.
Then, the Board discussed future plans for National Night Out Activity to be held in August. Upon a motion being made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve a check to pay for the expenses for National Night Out made payable to Elizabeth Scully in the amount of $2,500 in which she will return receipts for these operating costs.
Next, the Board reviewed a bid to install trees on the frontage on League City Parkway from Brittany Lakes Drive to the ditch area. After a motion being made, second and carried it was:
RESOLVED: to approve a proposal from Earthcare Management in the amount of $11,900 to install trees and crepe myrtles on the setback on League City Parkway from Brittany Lakes Drive to the ditch area.
The next meeting was scheduled for Thursday, June 21, 2007 at 6:30 pm. at the Magnolia Creek Clubhouse.
There being no further business to come before the Board in the regular session; the meeting was adjourned at 7:58 p.m.
The Board then immediately went into a brief Executive session to discuss deed violation matters.
Upon the conclusion of the Executive session, the Board officially adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
